Many people have concerns about the unknown when it comes to starting counseling. Concerns like what to expect in the first session, being unsure of the counseling process or having anxiety about calling for the first time are all common among new clients.

When you contact Wisdom in Wellness Services, you will be met with patience, compassion and understanding. There is never any pressure to move faster than you are ready to.

A first appointment always starts with some housekeeping items such as reviewing consent for therapy, confidentiality, booking system and billing.
The purpose of the initial session is for us to get to know each other. We will spend time reviewing how you hope counseling will be helpful for you.
A comprehensive assessment will be completed. I will discuss with you my clinical impression and together we will both develop goals for treatment. I will present to you a treatment plan outlining therapeutic techniques to be used and ensure that you understand what is expected of you.
Follow up appointments are typically scheduled every two weeks. It is understandable that things change as counseling progresses. The treatment plan will be reviewed and updated regularly to ensure that you are getting the most out of your counseling experience.
